Halloumi marinated for the grill

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 250 g natural halloumi
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp harissa
  • 1 pinch of sumac
  • 1 chili pepper(s)
  • some pepper, freshly ground

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

Deseed and finely dice the chili pepper. Adjust the amount according to the size, spiciness, and personal taste. I used 1/3 of the pepper. Mix the oil, harissa, a good pinch of sumac, freshly ground pepper, and the chili pepper well together. Coat the halloumi all over with the marinade and let it marinate thoroughly. For skewers, dice and mix with the marinade in a bowl. This amount is based on one pack of halloumi (approx. 250g). The cheese should marinate thoroughly, at least 1 hour, or overnight is fine.
