Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 8 egg yolks, very fresh (M)
  • 1 vanilla pod(s), the pulp
  • 500 ml milk
  • 325 g powdered sugar
  • 200 ml spirit, Primasprit (96%)

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

according to my grandmother’s recipe, makes about 1 liter

Whisk the egg yolks thoroughly and place them in a saucepan. Scrape out the seeds from the vanilla pod and add them to the egg yolks. Add the milk and powdered sugar and beat over a bain-marie until thick and creamy. Remove the pan from the bain-marie and stir until cold. Slowly stir in the spirit. Finally, filter twice through a sieve to remove any remaining curdled egg. Pour into clean glass bottles and refrigerate.
