Peppermint pieces

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 600 g powdered sugar
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 egg whites
  • 10 drops of peppermint oil
  • 10 drops of food coloring, red
  • Powdered sugar for the work surface

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 12 hours; Total time approx. 12 hours 30 minutes

First, roughly knead all ingredients—except the food coloring—using the dough hook of a hand mixer. Then continue kneading by hand until you have a slightly shiny, firm, but easily rollable dough. Divide the dough into two equal pieces and color one half pink with the food coloring. Immediately roll out both pieces separately on a smooth surface dusted with powdered sugar, until the dough is the same size and thickness. Then place them on top of each other and carefully roll over them again. Straighten the edges and cut small rectangles from the dough. Place them on a surface lined with baking paper and let them dry for at least 12 hours, turning them over occasionally.
