Micha's spicy grilled turkey skewers in puff pastry

Spread the love

Ingredients for 5 servings:

  • 400 g turkey schnitzel, bought already marinated (e.g. Hot BBQ)
  • 1 pack of puff pastry from the refrigerated section

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Roll out the puff pastry and unwrap the turkey cutlets. Using a sharp knife, cut both into 3-4 cm wide strips. Thread the beginning of a strip of puff pastry onto a skewer, then a piece of meat, then more puff pastry, and so on, creating a wave-like pattern of pastry and fillet. Preheat the grill to 200-220°C. Place the food on the grill for 10 minutes in a place away from direct flames and grill indirectly, e.g., on the warming rack or on a grill flame at the lowest setting. Close the lid and cook the skewers for 3-5 minutes, turning them 2 or 3 times. Depending on the desired browning, grill them again over direct heat at high temperature. If you don’t have a grill, you can also cook the skewers in the oven at 200-220°C using top/bottom heat. Turn 2-3 times and brown further if necessary on the grill or with top heat.
