Cold Power Drink

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 lemon(s)
  • ½ orange(s)
  • 2 tsp loose green tea
  • some mint leaves, fresh
  • 1 piece(s) ginger, approx. thumb-sized
  • 350 ml water, hot, not boiling

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Helps you get through the day with a cold.

Squeeze the lemon and half an orange thoroughly and squeeze the juice of both into a large glass or mug (approx. 500 ml capacity). Then cut the ginger into thin strips or pieces and tear the mint leaves once so they can better release their oils and aromas in the hot water. Then place the ginger, mint, and green tea in a tea strainer, an appropriately sized tea ball, or a tea bag (a coffee filter would also work) and pour everything into the mug along with 350 ml of hot, but no longer boiling, water. Let it steep for 5-6 minutes, then remove the tea strainer. Sweeten with a little honey, if desired. Alternative for thrifty people: Not so fresh, but if you don’t have ginger, mint and/or fresh fruit at home or don’t want to afford it, you can also use the following alternatively: 100 ml lemon juice (not concentrate!), 50 ml orange juice, 1 bag of green tea, 1 bag of ginger tea, 1 bag of mint tea.
