Grandma's cucumber salad with ham cubes

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 3 cucumbers
  • 300 ml sour cream
  • 125 g diced ham
  • 1 bunch of chives
  • 1 dashes oil
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Peel the cucumbers and slice them. Season with salt and pepper, and let stand for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, fry the ham cubes in a little oil until crispy (it’s important not to use too much oil, but the ham cubes won’t crisp without it). Drain half of the cucumber juices. Stir in the finely chopped chives and sour cream. Just before serving, stir in the ham cubes and season with salt and pepper. You can also use sour cream instead of sour cream, but then add 1-2 tablespoons of vinegar to taste.
