Assembled Fantasy Cake

The perfect assembled fantasy cake recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

Sponge cake with poppy seeds

  • 250 g Butter
  • 150 g Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Homemade vanilla sugar
  • 4 medium-sized Free range eggs
  • 250 g Spelled flour type 630
  • 2 Teaspoon (level) Baking powder
  • 75 g Ground poppy seeds

filling

  • 2 packet Vanilla custard powder
  • 0,75 liter Milk
  • 60 g Sugar
  • 3 cups Cream
  • 1 big can Peaches
  • 3 packet Cream stiffener

decoration

  • 1 packet Chocolate flowers
  • 4 tablespoon Advocaat

Batter

  1. Grind the poppy seeds, (I ground it in a coffee grinder.)
  2. Line a 26 cm cake pan with baking paper.
  3. Mix the butter with the sugar until frothy. Gradually stir in the eggs. Mix the flour and baking powder, then stir into the butter mixture, spoon by spoon. Finally mix in the poppy seeds.
  4. Fill the cake into the mold and bake in the preheated oven at top / bottom heat 170-190c for about 30 minutes. Depending on the oven. Simply make a chopsticks test. The cake has to get cold. Preferably bake the day before.

For the filling

  1. Cook the pudding according to the instructions on the packet, only with less milk, so that the pudding is really thick.
  2. Cover the pudding with foil and let it cool a little. Put the can of peaches in a colander and drain.
  3. When the pudding is more tepid and warm, beat the cream with the whipped cream.
  4. Put one part in a piping nozzle, mix the other part with the pudding.
  5. Then cut the peaches into small pieces and add them to the pudding as well.
  6. Cut the cake in half. I only took one half, I frozen the other, but you can also use both. So when the cake is cut in half, put a cake ring around it and spread the filling on top.
  7. Then let it sit in the fridge for 1 round. Then decorate with the rest of the cream. In any case, a tuff must be built all around, as the egg liqueur is in the middle and cannot run down. I hope you can do it better than me.
  8. But my neighbors and friends said it tasted great.
