My Onion Soup

The perfect my onion soup recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 1 kg. Fresh onions
  • 100 g Butter
  • 1 Teaspoon. Sugar
  • 1 Eßl. Mustard
  • White pepper, caraway seeds, rosemary
  • 1 Eßl. Flour
  • 1 L. Vegetable stock
  • 8 Discs Baguette
  • 200 g Grated cheese
  1. Cut the onions into fine rings, sauté in the butter with sugar, mustard, pepper, caraway seeds and rosemary over a low heat, turning frequently for 30 minutes.
  2. Dust the flour over it and let it sweat. Then add the hot broth while stirring and bring to the boil. Let simmer for another 30 minutes over low heat.
  3. Toast the baguette slices. Arrange the soup on a plate, place the baguette slices on top and sprinkle with cheese. Briefly place under the hot grill until the cheese has run. If no children are eating with, white wine can replace half of the broth.
