White Cabbage / Bavarian Cabbage
The perfect white cabbage / bavarian cabbage recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 3 piece Cube of sugar
- 100 ml Water
- 2 cl White wine vinegar
- 2 tbsp Lard
- 200 g Onions
- 500 g Fresh white cabbage
- 100 ml White wine
- Salt
- Pepper from the grinder
- Put the sugar cubes and the water in a saucepan, reduce a little and allow to caramelize until golden brown.
- Deglaze with the vinegar and add the lard.
- Cut the onions into fine strips, put them in the saucepan and sauté until light brown.
- Then add the chopped garlic and the white cabbage cut into strips to the saucepan and stir in. Pour in the white wine, possibly a little more poultry stock. Season salt and pepper and cook covered for approx. 30-35 minutes.
- Tip 5: If you like, you can add caraway seeds.
