Christmas Cookies: Cinnamon and Nut Balls

The perfect christmas cookies: cinnamon and nut balls recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

for the dough:

  • 3 Pc. Protein
  • 250 g Powdered sugar
  • 1 packet Vanilla sugar
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 300 g Ground hazelnuts

Also:

  • 50 g Whole hazelnuts
  1. First, beat the egg whites in a large bowl with the whisk of the hand mixer until stiff. Gradually pour in powdered sugar and vanilla sugar. Remove some of this mass and set aside, about half a cup.
  2. Fold in the rest of the cinnamon and hazelnuts. Shape the mixture into small balls with moistened hands and place on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Brush the top of the balls with the egg white you set aside. Place a hazelnut on top and press lightly.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven on the middle rack at 125 degrees top / bottom heat for approx. 25 – max. 30 minutes. The balls should still be soft on the inside as they will harden a little later. Pull with the baking paper from the baking sheet onto a wire rack to cool down.
