Exotic Winter Dessert …

The perfect exotic winter dessert … recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 100 g Fresh kumquats
  • 100 Milliliters Orange juice
  • 2 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 Star anise
  • 250 g Quark
  • 1 packet Vanilla sugar
  • 0,5 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 0,5 Persimmon fresh
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • 4 Ladyfingers
  • 2 tablespoon Orange liqueur
  1. Wash the kumquats, dry them and cut into thin slices. Bring to the boil together with orange juice, sugar and star anise. Simmer on a low heat for 10 minutes. Take it from the stove and let it cool off.
  2. Let the quark drain in a colander overnight. Mix the quark with the vanilla sugar and cinnamon until creamy. Pour the mixture into a piping bag.
  3. Wash, dry and cut the persimmon. Puree with the lemon juice.
  4. Place two ladyfingers next to each other. Drizzle with orange liqueur. Put a layer of quark cream on top. Spread the pureed persimmon on top. Put the rest of the cream on top. Sprinkle some cinnamon on top.
  5. Sprinkle the plates with powdered sugar. Serve the ladyfingers together with the kumquat compote.
