Snow Peas

The perfect snow peas recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 200 g Snow peas
  • 1 piece Onion
  • 1 piece Clove of garlic
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 tsp Colored pepper
  • 200 ml Riesling
  • Salt
  1. Peel and roughly chop the onion and (fresh, juicy) garlic.
  2. Halve the pods, looks nicer with an oblique cut.
  3. Grind the pepper in a mortar.
  4. Fry the onion and garlic in oil over medium heat patiently without color, add the pepper.
  5. Add the white wine and the sugar snap peas to the pan and turn up the temperature. It should boil. (a good 3 minutes).
  6. Then reduce the heat and simmer until the sugar snap peas have the desired consistency.
  7. Season to taste with salt.
  8. Hot, warm, lukewarm, cold, whether as a vegetable or salad: delicious!
