Apple Copenhagen
The perfect apple copenhagen recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
For 6 particles:
- 6 Discs Frozen puff pastry
- 0,5 packet Baking custard cream
- 3 small Apples
- Possibly raisins, if you like
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- 1 Egg yolk
- 2 tbsp Milk
- 2 tbsp Apricot jam
- Preheat the oven to 200 ° C (top / bottom heat).
- Place the frozen puff pastry slices on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and allow to thaw.
- Prepare the baking custard cream according to the instructions on the package. Peel and core the apples and drizzle with lemon juice. Beat the egg yolks with milk
- Score an edge of about 1 cm into each of the puff pastry slices (do not cut through) and brush with the whisked egg yolk. Put a tablespoon of pudding cream on top and half an apple on top. Sprinkle with raisins if you like and bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes.
- Strain the apricot jam through a sieve, heat it up and brush the finished apple copenhagen (only the apples) with it while it is still hot.
- Let the Apple Copenhageners cool completely on a wire rack.
