Oriental Spice Barbecue Sauce

The perfect oriental spice barbecue sauce recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 1 Onion
  • 3 Garlic cloves chopped
  • 3 Thai chili pepper
  • 500 ml Sieved tomatos
  • 400 ml Orange juice
  • 4 tbsp Beet syrup
  • 1 tsp Mustard
  • 1 tbsp Ground coriander
  • 3 piece Star anise
  • 1 pinch Ground cinnamon
  • 6 Cardamom pod
  • 2 tbsp Balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp Hoisin sauce
  • 1 tsp Smoked salt

1.Schritt …

  1. Dice the onions, chilli peppers and garlic and sweat in the oil until translucent. Top up with the strained tomatoes and orange juice. Puree the whole thing with the hand mixer. (if you like it, you can leave it that way)

  1. Now add all the remaining ingredients … press the cardamom pods on (or use the ground ones) … stir, reduce, stir occasionally until the sauce has the right consistency. When that’s done, pour the sauce through a sieve to remove the cardamom pods and star anise. let cool down … done!
