The perfect gooseberry and currant jam recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

As desired

  • 500 g Currants fresh
  • 1 packet Preserving sugar 2: 1
  • 0,5 tube Lemon flavor
  • 3 tsp Brandy
  1. Wash the gooseberries and currants (currants) and remove the blossoms. Cut the gooseberries with the knife at the same time.
  1. Put the fruits in a larger saucepan in which they are then also boiled and sprinkle with sugar so that the fruits get better juice. Let the fruits stand for about 2 hours.
  1. Now pour the lemon aroma over it and let it boil. If necessary, chop with the hand blender. Let the fruits simmer for about 10 minutes (level 5 on the electric stove). Then add the brandy if necessary. Rinse the jam jars with boiling water.
  1. Take a gel sample. If the sample is okay, pour the jam into the jars, close them tightly and turn them upside down for 20 minutes.
