Storage

Gala Royal ripens from the end of September to the beginning of October, and the apple variety can be stored until the end of December. With optimal cooling conditions, this apple variety can even be enjoyed well into March. Like all other apple varieties, Gala Royal should not be stored together with other fruits. The plant hormone ethylene causes other fruits to wilt faster. This can be avoided by only storing apples with other apples. The storage room should be cool; the refrigerator offers very good conditions for longer storage.
