Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 250 g fish fillet(s) (matjes fillets)
- 2 apples
- 2 onions
- 2 gherkins
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup of yogurt
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- pepper
Instructions

Matjes salad, Hessian style
Rinse the oil off the herring fillets and cut them into medium-sized pieces. Peel and core the apples, then cut them into small pieces. Peel the onions and slice them into thin rings or half rings. Slice the gherkins. Mix the remaining ingredients into a smooth sauce. Mix with the chopped ingredients. Serve with boiled potatoes or fresh bread.
