Kale with Mettendchen

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 bag of frozen kale (approx. 750 g)
  • 2 onions, finely diced
  • 100 g ham, diced
  • 1 liter meat broth, strong
  • 1 tbsp mustard, hot
  • possibly salt and pepper
  • 4 sausages (Mettendchen)
  • 1 tbsp butter

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 5 minutes

without lard and smoked pork

Place a large pot on the heat, add the butter, and let it melt. Add the diced onion and ham and sauté briefly. Deglaze with the broth and add the kale. Cover and simmer on low heat for 30 minutes. Add the Mettendchen sausages during the last 10 minutes. Finally, stir in the mustard and season with salt and pepper, if desired. Serve with boiled potatoes.
