Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g minced meat, mixed or minced lamb
  • 2 slice(s) white bread, (toast) can be stale
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 2 tbsp margarine
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 can/n tomatoes or tomato juice

Soak the white bread, grate the onion, knead the minced meat, grated onion, soaked and squeezed white bread, egg, salt, pepper and cumin together well, form small meatballs with moistened palms, grease a baking tray with the margarine, place the meatballs on the baking tray and bake over low heat until they are nicely browned, for the sauce, sweat the butter and flour, add the tomatoes (chopped) with juice or tomato juice and bring to the boil once, season with salt and pepper, pour the tomato sauce over the meatballs.
