Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 1 baguette(s), approx. 12 slices, from the lecture
- 1 liter of milk
- 1 stalk(s) cinnamon
- 1 lemon(s), grated peel
- 6 tbsp sugar
- 3 eggs
- oil
- Honey
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes
Heat the milk with the cinnamon stick and lemon zest. Meanwhile, cut the bread into slices about 2.5 cm thick and place them side by side in a large bowl. Add sugar to the hot milk and pour over the bread, letting it sit until the milk is almost completely absorbed. Beat the eggs, place a pan of oil on the stove, and turn the heat to medium. Dip the milk-soaked bread slices in the egg and fry in the oil until golden brown on both sides. Place on kitchen paper to absorb any excess fat. Arrange the bread on plates and serve drizzled with plenty of honey.
