Instructions

Minced meat parcels filled with feta cheese

Place the minced meat in a bowl, finely crumble the bread, and add it. Mix in the finely chopped onion and garlic, as well as the finely chopped parsley. Add the egg and seasonings. Add approximately 30 cl of mineral water and knead the mixture vigorously with your hands until it is homogeneous. Let the mixture rest in the refrigerator for approximately 30 minutes. While the mixture is resting, cut the feta into 12 pieces. Then take about 5 cm of minced meat mixture per bifteki, roll it in flour, and flatten it into a flatbread about 0.6 cm thick. Place cheese pieces on the flatbread and fold it over to form a pocket. Press the edges together on all sides to ensure the mixture adheres. Heat a pan with sunflower oil, then reduce the heat. Fry the bifteki in the hot oil. If desired, you can serve the bifteki with a sauce. Sauce: Crumble 1 cube each of vegetable stock and meat stock into a large mug, add hot water, and stir. Amount of water: It shouldn’t be a soup (2 liters), but it shouldn’t be just 1 tablespoon either. You can also use homemade vegetable or meat broth, as this will give you a better idea of what’s in it. Pour the broth into a pot, add mustard, honey, lemon juice, paprika, and pepper, and simmer over medium heat for a few minutes. Serve with the bifteki. Suitable side dishes include: flatbread, tzatziki, rice, mashed potatoes, French fries, fried potatoes, potato salad, cucumber salad, tomato salad, etc.
