Milanese Party – Schnitzel Pot

Ingredients for 10 servings:

  • 10 pork schnitzels
  • 3 cans of mushrooms
  • 5 large onions
  • 500 g ham, cooked
  • 3 packs of tomatoes, pureed
  • 2 can/n tomatoes, chopped
  • 6 cups of cream
  • 5 balls of mozzarella
  • 500 g cheese of your choice, grated
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • oregano
  • marjoram
  • Parsley
  • Clarified butter for frying

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Rest time approx. 10 hours; Total time approx. 10 hours 35 minutes

Brown the pork schnitzels in hot clarified butter. Then remove from the pan and cut in half. Season as desired and refrigerate for a while. Peel the onions and slice them into rings. Drain the mushrooms and slice them. Cut the cooked ham into strips. Brown everything in the remaining fat in the pan. Place the schnitzels in a roasting pan or large casserole dish. Distribute the onions, mushrooms, and cooked ham over the schnitzels. Slice the mozzarella and arrange them over everything. Mix the tomatoes, cream, and herbs and pour them over the schnitzels. Refrigerate everything for about 8 to 10 hours and let it marinate. Then cook the whole thing in a preheated oven at 220°C for about 1-2 hours (depending on the size of the roasting pan or casserole dish). Just before the end of the baking time, sprinkle the grated cheese over the top and bake until light golden brown. Serve with white bread and salad, or with pasta or croquettes.
