Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium-sized onion(s), finely diced
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 can tomato(s) (Pizza tomatoes)
  • 1 tsp basil, dried
  • 1 tsp oregano, dried
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Heat oil in a pan. Add onions and fry over low heat for about 5 minutes. Peel and mince the garlic, add it to the onions in the pan, and fry for 1 minute. Add the pizza tomatoes, herbs, and sugar and simmer over low heat for about 10 minutes, until the sauce has thickened. Season with salt and pepper, and let cool. Tip: The sauce can be prepared up to 2 days in advance. Transfer to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator. It will keep frozen for about 2 months (fill it in an ice cube tray, freeze, and then transfer it to a freezer container—this way the sauce can be taken out as needed).
