  1. The Pizza New York Style is an Italian-American classic. It has a large, hand-thrown crust and is sold in large slices to take away. The pizza, also known as American Style Pizza, is very generous because it has a lot of cheese on it.
  2. Basically everyone can fill the pizza as they like. The classic recipe is prepared with plenty of tomato sauce and lots of cheese.

Pizza NYC:

  1. Knead the flour, dry yeast, salt, oil, sugar and lukewarm water into a dough. Let the dough rest for an hour.
  2. Then knead the dough well again and cut into three parts. Let go for another hour.
  3. For the sauce, finely chop the onion and garlic. Sauté in olive oil in a saucepan until soft.
  4. Deglaze with the tomato puree and bring to the boil briefly. Season with salt, pepper and Italian herbs.
  5. Preheat the oven to the highest temperature.
  6. Roll out the pizza dough – not too thin. Brush with tomato sauce and top with mozzarella. Alternatively, other cheeses can also be used, for example Cheddar, Emmental or a little Parmesan. It is important that the pizza is topped up generously. Then season with oregano and chili powder.
  7. Bake in the oven for about 5 to 10 minutes. The baking time depends on the oven and the thickness of the dough.
  8. Remove from the oven, cut into pieces and serve immediately!
