Czech yeast plait with raisins and almonds

Make a yeast dough from the ingredients, excluding the almonds and raisins, and knead until the dough bubbles. Then add the raisins and chopped almonds and let the dough rise in a warm, draft-free place for about 2 hours. Once the dough has risen, shape it into a loaf, place it on a baking sheet, and let it rest for a while. Bake in an oven preheated to 180°C (convection oven) for about one hour on the middle rack. While still warm, brush with melted butter and sprinkle with powdered sugar (it tastes great just brushed with butter, but I prefer it on its own). Note: This is a Czech recipe known as Vanocka (in the form of a braided loaf) at Christmas and Bochanek (in the form of a loaf) at Easter. Super delicious and eaten straight away.
