Sweet quark casserole

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • ¼ liter of milk
  • 50 g semolina
  • 200 g quark
  • 100 g apples, finely chopped
  • 50 g nuts, ground
  • some lemon zest, grated, if needed
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • 4 eggs
  • 5 tbsp syrup (agave syrup, sugar also works)
  • Fat for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Preheat the oven to 180°C (top/bottom heat). Bring the milk to a boil, sprinkle in the semolina, and prepare according to the package instructions. Then let it cool. Once cooled, mix with the quark. Then add the apple pieces, nuts, cinnamon, agave syrup, and—if desired—the grated lemon zest. Separate the eggs. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form and fold them into the semolina mixture along with the egg yolks. Transfer everything to a buttered casserole dish. Place in the hot oven and bake for about 50 minutes. If everything went well, the casserole should have risen nicely and be lightly browned. Serve with vanilla sauce.
