Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 5 rolls, stale
  • ½ liter of milk
  • 80 g sugar
  • 50 g hazelnuts, ground
  • 50 g raisins
  • 500 g apples
  • 2 eggs
  • ⅛ liter milk
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 lemon(s), the peel
  • n. B. Butter, cut into flakes
  • Fat for the mold

Instructions

Working time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Cut the rolls into small pieces. Sweeten the milk with sugar and pour over the rolls. Wash and drain the raisins. Peel and core the apples, and cut them into approximately 1/2 cm thick slices. Grease a baking dish. Alternate the bread mixture with the apple slices, nuts, and raisins. Whisk the eggs with the milk. Add the grated lemon zest, salt, and vanilla sugar. Pour the egg mixture over the baking dish. Sprinkle the mixture with breadcrumbs and sugar and top with knobs of butter. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 40 minutes.
