Bergische sweet waffles

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g flour
  • 150 g butter, melted
  • ¼ liter sweet cream
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 egg whites
  • e.g. powdered sugar
  • e.g. whipped cream
  • n. B. cherry(s), hot

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Combine sifted flour, cream, sugar, vanilla sugar, water, salt, 2 whole eggs, 2 egg yolks, and melted butter to form a smooth batter. Beat 2 egg whites until stiff peaks form and carefully fold into the batter. Bake in a waffle iron until golden brown. Sprinkle with powdered sugar or serve with hot cherries and whipped cream.
