Instructions
Working time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes
Make a shortcrust pastry from flour, salt, and butter with 2-3 tablespoons of cold water. Wrap the pastry in foil and let it rest in the freezer for about 30 minutes. Cut the ham into thin strips. Chop the onion and garlic. Whisk the cream with salt, pepper, the eggs, and the chopped herbs. Preheat the oven to 200°C (fan). Roll out the pastry on a floured surface. Grease a baking dish and line it with the pastry (I always use a small roasting pan). Trim off the excess edges. Mix the ham with the onion and garlic and spread it on the pastry. Mix the grated cheese with the cream mixture and pour over the dough. Bake for about 40 minutes until golden brown, covering with aluminum foil (matte side out) after about 20 minutes.
