Ingredients for 5 servings:
- 1 kg potato(s), floury
- 5 large onions
- 8 apples, sour
- 100 ml cream
- Butter for frying
- Salt and pepper from the mill
- nutmeg
- Sugar
- some Calvados
Instructions
Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes
Peel the onions, halve them, and slice them into rings. Then fry them in a pan with a little butter and season with salt and pepper. Finally, add a little sugar and lightly caramelize the onions. Peel and core the apples, and cut them into wedges. Fry the apples in a pan until golden brown on both sides. Deglaze with Calvados and flambé. Peel the potatoes and boil them in salted water. Once boiling, add a little butter and the cream. Then mash the potatoes until they form a fluffy puree. Season to taste with pepper, salt, and nutmeg. Unfortunately, you can only smell and taste it if you try it yourself.
