Ingredients for 6 servings:
- 1 kg potato(s), waxy
- 1 jar of pickles
- 1 jar of remoulade
- 1 apple
- some milk
- Salt and pepper, black
Instructions
Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 3 hours; Total time approx. 3 hours 20 minutes
Boil the potatoes, rinse, peel, and slice. Chop the gherkins and apple into small pieces. Place a layer of potato slices in the bowl and season generously with salt and pepper. Then add some of the gherkins and apple, then more potato slices, and season them generously, etc. Finally, spread the jar of remoulade over the salad and pour in a generous amount of the gherkin water. Stir gently. Place the salad in the refrigerator to marinate. Caution: The potatoes absorb quite a bit of liquid (i.e., sauce). That’s why I always pour a little milk into the empty remoulade jar, seal it, and place it in the refrigerator. When I serve the salad, I shake the remoulade jar vigorously again (this adds a little extra flavor to the milk with the remnants of the remoulade) and then pour it over the salad!
