not just for the Christmas season
Roughly chop the chocolate and melt it over a pan of simmering water. Allow it to cool until lukewarm, then thoroughly mix in the eggs, then the sugar, and finally the flour and gingerbread spice. Cut the nougat into the smallest possible pieces and fold them into the mixture along with 100g of the hazelnuts. Line a square baking or casserole dish (20×25 cm), or a 24cm springform pan, with baking paper, pour in the mixture and smooth it down. Sprinkle the remaining nuts over the batter and press down lightly. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (top/bottom heat) for about 25-30 minutes. A light crust should have formed on the outside, while the inside should still be chocolatey soft. Allow to cool and cut into cubes. Not just for the Christmas season: these brownies taste divine even without the gingerbread spice.
