Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 400 g Leberkäse, cut into strips
  • 400 g mushrooms, halved
  • 1 onion(s), sliced
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • ¼ liter of milk
  • 1 tsp broth, instant
  • 3 gherkins, sliced
  • 3 tsp mustard
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Heat the oil in a pan and fry the Leberkäse (liver sausage). Remove when it’s well browned. Then fry the mushrooms and onion in the oil, dust with flour, and continue to sauté. Deglaze with the milk and 1/4 liter of water. Stir in the broth and bring to a boil. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes, then stir in the mustard. Stir in the cucumbers and Leberkäse and heat through. Season with salt and pepper. If you like, you can also add a little pickle juice. This goes best with potatoes or simply some delicious farmhouse bread.
