Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 200 g beetroot
  • 65 g butter
  • 65 g brown sugar
  • 375 g flour (wheat flour)
  • ½ pack of baking powder
  • 30 g candied lemon
  • 30 g candied orange peel
  • 30 g almonds, chopped
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ lemon(s), grated peel

Heat the beetroot syrup, fat, and sugar in a saucepan and let cool slightly. Sift the flour and baking powder into a bowl, add the candied lemon peel, candied orange peel, almonds, and spices. Mix in the beetroot syrup, starting in the center, and knead thoroughly. Roll out the dough thinly and cut out cookies. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and bake in the preheated oven on the middle rack at 175-200°C for 10-12 minutes.
