Goat cheese in hazelnut breading

Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 150 g goat cheese slices
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 6 tbsp, heaped hazelnuts, ground or grated
  • 1 tsp lemon oil, alternatively orange oil

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

as a side dish to salad or cream soup

Whisk the egg. Set aside the hazelnuts. Cut the goat cheese roll into evenly thick slices (approx. 15-20 mm, 25 g each), allowing 3 slices per serving. One at a time, coat each slice of goat cheese completely on all sides in the beaten egg, then coat in the ground hazelnuts, pressing the coating down lightly. Then fry the coated slices for approx. 2-3 minutes over medium heat in a little lemon or orange oil (recipes can be found in the database). Carefully turn over and finish frying on the other side. Serve while still hot with a salad. Tip: The hazelnut coating tastes even more intense if you first roast the whole kernels in the oven at approx. 180°C, let them cool slightly, and then grate or finely grind them.
