Sweet potato mash

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg sweet potatoes
  • 200 ml cream
  • 50 g butter
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch(s) nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Fine side dish with a sweet note

First, peel the sweet potatoes. Meanwhile, bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook the sweet potatoes until they are tender. This will take between 20 and 30 minutes, depending on their thickness (it’s best to use a fork to check whether they are tender enough). Then drain the water and mash the potatoes in the pot. Now just stir in the butter and cream and season with salt and nutmeg. If it’s not sweet enough for you (it always depends on the potatoes), you can of course add a little sugar. It’s a great side dish to fish or other lighter dishes and is guaranteed to be a success.
