Spread the love

Ingredients for 7 servings:

  • 1 bag of dried wakame (56 g)
  • 5 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 5 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp wasabi paste, for seasoning
  • 5 tbsp sesame seeds

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 20 minutes

ideal as a side dish to sushi

Place the dried wakame seaweed in a pot, cover with cold water, and let stand for 5-10 minutes until the seaweed is saturated with water. Drain well and squeeze dry. Meanwhile, prepare the dressing. Mix the vinegar, soy sauce, sugar, and sesame oil well, then season with wasabi paste to taste. Add the sesame seeds to a pan and toast over medium heat (careful! It can burn easily). Mix the seaweed and dressing well, then stir in the toasted sesame seeds. Cover and let stand for about an hour to allow the seaweed to absorb some of the dressing, then serve. Tips: You can find the ingredients in Asian supermarkets. The servings above are approximate and assume the salad is served as a side dish.
