Mashed potatoes with nasturtiums

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 750 g potatoes
  • 75 g butter
  • 125 ml milk
  • 10 nasturtium leaves
  • 10 nasturtium flowers
  • some salt and pepper, black, from the mill
  • some nutmeg, freshly grated

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Peel the potatoes and cut into smaller pieces. Wash the nasturtium leaves and flowers and spin dry. Finely chop the leaves and coarsely chop the flowers. Cook the potatoes in plenty of salted water for about 15 to 20 minutes until tender. Meanwhile, heat the milk in a small saucepan, melt the butter, and season everything with nutmeg, pepper, and salt. Drain the potatoes and let them cool thoroughly. Now mash the potatoes into a coarse mash, add the hot seasoned milk, and mix everything thoroughly. Finally, carefully fold in the chopped leaves and flowers.
