porridge

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 50 g oat flakes
  • 160 ml water, alternatively milk or similar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp sugar or maple syrup
  • 2 tsp almond(s), ground
  • 1 banana(s)

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 5 minutes

Combine the liquid (I always use half water, half milk, but this is completely variable. If you like, you can also use almond/soy/oat/rice milk for a vegan breakfast) with the oats and salt in a microwave-safe bowl, stir, and microwave for 2 minutes at 360 watts. Then stir the porridge once and microwave for another 2 minutes. Finally, I add the mashed banana, the almonds, and, if you like, the sugar. The porridge is warm and, in my opinion, beautifully creamy. It’s also quick to make, tastes delicious, and keeps you full for a long time. If you don’t have a microwave, you can of course cook the whole thing in a saucepan. For an exotic kick, you can add unsweetened cocoa powder and desiccated coconut. Of course, any other fruit will work, although I prefer mashed banana because of its natural sweetness.
