Baked potato spiral

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 potatoes, waxy
  • e.g. olive oil
  • e.g. salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

low-fat side dish for all meals

Wash the potatoes thoroughly and skewer them lengthwise with a wooden skewer. Cut the potatoes slightly diagonally with a knife. While slicing, twist the potatoes slightly to create a long spiral. Carefully pull the potato spirals apart on the wooden skewer. Place them on a baking tray, brush with oil, and season generously with salt and pepper to taste. Place the baking tray in the oven at 160°C (top/bottom heat) for at least 30 minutes. Check the oven regularly to see how crispy you want the potatoes and adjust the baking time accordingly. Perfect for grilling or as a substitute for fries. Children eat the potatoes with ketchup; I prefer sour cream.
