Quick apple compote or applesauce

Spread the love

Ingredients for 3 servings:

  • 3 apples
  • 5 tbsp orange juice
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp, smothered cinnamon

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

without granulated sugar

Wash, peel, and cut the apples into small pieces. Sauté the apple pieces with the orange juice, maple syrup, and cinnamon for about 15 minutes until soft. Then, either blend the apples briefly with an immersion blender to thicken the compote or purée them into a fine puree. Notes: The maple syrup can also be replaced with honey or guava juice. However, be aware that guava juice is more sweetened. The compote or purée tastes great with rice pudding, semolina porridge, rice casserole, hash browns, and potato pancakes.
