Mustard carrots

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 700 g carrot(s)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 125 ml vegetable stock
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • salt and pepper
  • possibly crème fraîche or cream cheese

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 10 minutes

delicious with meatballs

Peel the carrots, quarter them lengthwise, and cut them crosswise into fork-sized pieces. Melt the butter in a saucepan and stir in the sugar until melted. Add the carrots and toss briefly. Pour in the vegetable stock and sauté the carrots for about 10 minutes until al dente, if desired. Mix the mustard into the carrots and season with salt, pepper, and lemon juice. If you prefer a creamier dish, add a little more crème fraîche or cream cheese.
