Quark balls

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g quark
  • 200 g sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 eggs
  • 500 g flour
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 packet of baking powder
  • 1 kg vegetable fat
  • Sugar for rolling

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 7 minutes; Total time approx. 32 minutes

makes about 20 balls

First, mix together the quark, sugar, vanilla extract, and eggs. Separately, combine the flour, salt, and baking powder and gradually add them to the batter. Stir the mixture until it reaches a firm, chewy consistency. Heat the fat in a saucepan. Alternatively, heat the fat in a deep fryer to 160–170°C. It’s best to use two tablespoons to form small balls from the dough and place them directly into the hot fat. Fry the quark balls until golden brown, then briefly remove any excess fat on a kitchen towel. Roll the still-warm balls in sugar and serve.
