Fig jam with almonds and Amaretto

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg fig(s), fresh
  • 1 lemon(s), organic
  • 2 tbsp honey (acacia)
  • 200 g sugar, brown
  • 50 g almond sticks
  • Amaretto

Instructions

Quarter the figs and cut into small cubes. Grate the zest of the organic lemon and squeeze the juice. Lightly toast the almond slivers in a dry pan. Combine the lemon juice, lemon zest, figs, acacia honey, and sugar in a large saucepan, stir well, and bring to a boil. Simmer over medium heat for about 25 minutes, stirring continuously. Finally, stir in the almond slivers and, if desired, 1-2 shots of Amaretto. Pour the jam into hot, rinsed jars and seal.
