Fake currywurst à la Didi

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g palm hearts
  • 1 can of chopped tomatoes (400 g)
  • 4 large chili peppers, green, pickled
  • 2 m.-large onion(s), red
  • 4 tbsp white wine vinegar
  • 1 dash of olive oil
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp curry powder

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Drain the chili peppers, cut them open, and discard any liquid. Chop the chili peppers into small pieces. Peel and dice the onions. Fry the hearts of palm in a non-stick pan and remove from the pan. Sauté the chili pieces and diced onion in the pan with a tablespoon of olive oil until translucent. Add the tomatoes. Season with white wine vinegar, pepper, oregano, salt, and maple syrup. Add 2 tablespoons of curry powder and stir in. Cut the hearts of palm into approximately 2 cm pieces, add to the sauce, and simmer for about 5 minutes. Season again, arrange onions, and serve.
