  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 3 tbsp applesauce or apple puree
  • Fat for the mold
  • 4 apples, e.g. Elstar, Gala

  • 130 g margarine
  • 180 g flour
  • 80 g sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 15 minutes

with cinnamon sprinkles

Preheat the oven to 180°C fan/convection oven. Grease a 28cm springform pan. For the pastry, put the flour, sugar, the margarine (cut into pieces), applesauce or apple puree, and vanilla sugar in a bowl. Use a mixer to mix until smooth. Spread the pastry evenly over the bottom of the springform pan, forming a rim. For the apple mixture, peel and core the apples and cut them into thin slices. Mix the apple slices with the applesauce or apple puree in a bowl. Then spread the mixture evenly over the springform pan. For the cinnamon crumble, melt the margarine in a saucepan or in the microwave. Add the flour, sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Mix everything thoroughly with a mixer and then rub into crumbles with your hands. Place the cake in the preheated oven and bake for about 40-45 minutes, until the crumble is golden brown. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan before removing it from the pan. Cut the apple pie into pieces and serve as desired.
