Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g onion(s)
  • 250 g beef
  • 250 g pork
  • 250 ml meat broth
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder
  • chili powder
  • Oil, for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 2 hours 15 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 35 minutes

My favorite goulash, based on a good friend’s recipe

Roughly dice the onions and meat. Heat a little oil in a large pot and brown the meat in batches. Set aside and keep warm. Briefly fry the onions and deglaze with the stock. Add the meat and simmer for about 2 hours, stirring occasionally, until the onions have completely melted. Add more stock if necessary. Season to taste with salt, pepper, paprika, and chili powder. Serve with tagliatelle, potatoes, or simply white bread.
