- 1 kg tomatoes
- 500 g sugar

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 50 minutes; Total time approx. 3 hours
Tomato jam
Peel the tomatoes, briefly place them in boiling water, remove the seeds, and cut into pieces. Add the sugar and lemon juice, mix, and let stand for about 2 hours. Now place everything in a saucepan and simmer for about 45 minutes, stirring well. Then blend briefly with a hand blender. Simmer for another 5 minutes, stirring constantly, then fill jars while still hot and seal. The cooking time depends on the water content of the tomatoes. Waterier tomatoes will need a little longer to reach the right consistency—the water evaporates.
