delicious, quick homemade chocolate waffles with cream and seasonal fruits
First, melt the butter in a small saucepan and lightly brown it to give it a slightly nutty flavor. Once browned, set it aside to cool. While the butter is browning and cooling, beat the egg until fluffy. Once this has happened, add the sugar, vanilla sugar, and salt and stir until the sugar has completely dissolved. Then stir in the cooled butter and vanilla extract. Mix the flour with the baking powder, baking soda, and cocoa powder and stir into the egg and sugar mixture a spoonful at a time. Grind the cardamom at this point and then add it to the batter. Grate the apple and add it to the batter along with the yogurt, mixing everything in thoroughly. Bake the batter in the waffle iron and place the finished waffles on a plate. While the waffles are baking, whip the cream until stiff peaks and set aside to chill. Now clean and finely dice the seasonal fruit. These are then mixed with the lime juice and set aside. Now it’s time to assemble the waffles. To do this, take a waffle and place it on a plate. Place a generous dollop of whipped cream in the center. Then add the delicious fruit on top of the whipped cream. Feel free to drop some next to the waffle to keep things from looking too staged.
