Baked Kohlrabi Super Melt

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 400 g kohlrabi
  • 80 g cheese (hard cheese), grated
  • 1 garlic clove(s)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 40 g cream
  • salt and pepper
  • 8 sage leaves
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 tbsp white wine
  • 100 ml vegetable stock, if necessary

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour

Baked kohlrabi from the steamer, vegetarian

Peel the kohlrabi and cut into 1-2 cm thick slices. Steam in a steamer for 6-8 minutes or sauté in vegetable broth until al dente. Place the kohlrabi slices on an oiled baking sheet, top with tomato slices, and sprinkle with salt. Mix the grated cheese with cream, wine, crushed garlic, and pepper. Place the sage leaves on the tomato slices and spread the cheese mixture over them. Bake at 180°C for about 20 minutes. Tastes delicious as a vegetarian dish with salad and bread of your choice, or as a side dish to meat dishes.
